Is your sports club ready for the ‘new normal’?

As a sports facility you may have reopened your doors or be on the verge of getting going again after COVID-19, but have you thought what modifications you need to make for future operations to work seamlessly?

When something upsets the apple cart, it may be time to consider is there a different and better way to do things? Considering an automated system may facilitate your readiness for the ‘new normal’ and the future beyond (whatever that looks like!).

Improving communication

Many players will not be up to date with the latest rules and some may be apprehensive about returning so reassurance is necessary.

Effective communication is vital. To put everybody’s mind at rest a group/community email/SMS chat facility allows you to keep the right people informed and customise your messages to different groups. Setting up automated messages when you are not available or could forget means that vital information gets delivered.

Cashless payments

Cashless payments are being prioritised as exchanging money may help to spread coronavirus. Providing flexible auto payment and card instalment facilities is now expected, as well as moving with the times.

Efficient scheduling, noting availability and recording attendance

Scheduling and assigning resources has always been a challenge, but presently organising players may be even more complex as people cancel at the last minute to self-isolate. Assigning resources in advance, accessing a global view and amending resources immediately if something changes can realistically only be managed on a centralised portal.

There is also a requirement to ‘track and trace’ those that attend training/matches. An automated way to see who is available and efficiently register those who have attended/participated will support your newly implemented track and trace processes.

If there was ever a good time to consider how you do things then now is the time! Make sure that you are not left on the back foot.
