Managing set-based sports like pickleball, tennis, and badminton often requires more than just tracking the final score. Each match is composed of sets and games, and without a streamlined way to manage them, things can get messy. That’s where our Sub-Games feature comes in.
With Sub-Games, you can now add fixtures that reflect the full structure of these sports. Whether you’re a player or league manager, this new feature allows you to break down matches into sets and games, giving you the precision and clarity you need to manage fixtures.
Why Use Sub-Games?
Sports management should enhance the experience, not complicate it. Sub-Games make it easy to keep track of every detail, so you can focus on the game itself. Whether you’re overseeing a local pickleball tournament or a competitive tennis league, this tool ensures you can capture all the scores.
Key Benefits
- Detailed Match Tracking – Record scores in every set and game within a match
- Customisable Fixtures – Create fixtures based on the number of sub games you need
- Streamlined Management – Choose how your games are scored, per match, set or overall and allocated points for each.
- Enhanced Player Experience – Live scores, league tables and player stats help to keep players engaged.
Seamless Integration with Existing Features
Sub-Games aren’t just a standalone feature, this is built within our powerful fixture management system which allows you to create a single game or a season worth of fixtures.
Once a game takes place, coordinators can enter scores, allocate stats and confirm games so they update the league table in real time. You can also report on match officials and payment rates to ensure everyone involved is paid the right amount and on time.
First you just choose the number of periods needs e.g. Badminton would have 3 sets or game periods.
Then we need to choose how to calculate the result, this allows our system to work out how to calculate the points a team gets and apply it to the league table.
- Aggregated: This is a custom setup where all the scores add up e.g. If a team wins all 3 games 2-1, the final score is 6-3 for the match.
- Points at sub level game: Some sports like Futsal have 4 games per match and points can be earned per game e.g. 1 match is 4 sub games, if you win all 4 games you can get 4 x 3 points.
- Number of subgame wins: For sports like Padel which is the best of 3 sets, the person who wins 2 sets wins the match and gets the points.
